Finance Manager, Operations  

The Finance Manager, Operations is a key financial liaison providing financial, analytical and strategic support and guidance to the company’s Accounting, FP&A and Operations groups.  The individual will provide coordination and analysis of monthly actual reporting, budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans with respect to gross margins, cost of goods sold (COGS) (including cost to manufacture and manufacturing variances), capital expenditures, inventory as well as departmental spending across Operations and Facilities. This individual will also be responsible for providing guidance and financial support to our Operations team in areas including but not limited to make/buy decisions, variance analysis, corrective action analysis, inventory, and capital analysis / planning. This role will be critical in providing timely, accurate and actionable information to support strategic and day-to-day decision-making for these functions.  The Finance Manager, Operations g will report directly to a Senior Director within the Accounting and Finance function and work in close partnership with the Cost Accounting Manager. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Key contributor to month-end close to support analysis and reporting of inventory and COGS to Corporate accounting and FP&A management
  • Finance business partner to the COO; active member of Operations leadership
  • Responsible for the overall collection and consolidation of monthly actual results and periodic forecasts and annual budgets for Operations and Facilities including operational variances, inventory and capital, with emphasis on actionable analytical reporting for those leadership teams
  • Collaborate with functional leadership to proactively explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations, and lead the development of complex analysis to drive business decision making, including break-even analysis, volume sensitivity, make-buy analysis, among others.
  • Provide guidance to Operations leadership on aligning productivity and capacity planning
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for business intelligence (BI) software in the areas of product costing and inventory reporting, including building reports and dashboards using the BI tool to meet Operations and Finance/Accounting needs, with emphasis on accuracy, efficiency and scalability of processes
  • Provide financial modeling support for capital investments and other projects/investments
  • Support the development of management presentations and supporting schedules, including business reviews, strategic plans, and other leadership presentations and annual plans as needed
  • Working with Corporate Accounting team, ensure proper accounting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and support on special projects, as required


  • 5 - 7+ years’ experience in relevant positions, with experience with/strong working knowledge of operational financial reporting, manufacturing financial analysis, and inventory analytics
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection
  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Office and advanced analytic reporting tools (SAC experience preferred)
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines (e.g., financial closes, budget and forecast processes, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills including ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports
  • Ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with management, peers, staff and external stakeholders
  • Possesses strong leadership, and sound business judgment and is comfortable working with senior management
  • Demonstrates the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
