General Summary

The ideal candidate will have solid independent laboratory research experience and excellent academic credentials. The candidate will work closely with other scientists and engineers on a variety of cross-functional projects in developing and validating new applications, technologies, and products for rapid microbial enumeration assays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute established validation and laboratory protocols

  • Liaise with other professionals or scientists to assist in the execution of protocols

  • Support the dissemination of research data by independently contributing to work reports and other documentation

  • Perform laboratory support duties, including but not limited to prepare medias and buffers, autoclave materials, maintain general laboratory equipment

  • Work in a safe manner with strict adherence to all procedures

  • Actively participate and engage cross-functionally on assigned project teams

  • May need to work nights and weekends on occasion to meet critical deadlines

Education & Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Microbiology, or Biological sciences and 2-4 years’ experience with general microbiological methods, experimental test protocol, and results preparation (academic and/or industry).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, or Biological sciences and 0-2 years’ experience with general microbiological methods, experimental test protocol, and results preparation (academic and/or industry).]

  • Candidate must be familiar with common laboratory techniques such as:

    • Aseptic technique, culturing methodologies, pipetting, and autoclaving.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, work in a team setting, and independently learn / execute assigned tasks. 

Working conditions/physical demands

  • Requires the ability to lift 15+ pounds

  • Requires standing for an extended period of time
